ABOUT THE 14M 32A EXTENSION LEAD
This 14-metre 110V extension lead is designed for heavy-duty power distribution across construction sites, workshops and temporary working environments.
The 4 mm² conductors are suitable for higher-current 32A applications, while the high-visibility yellow cable helps make the lead easier to identify on site.
Industrial BS EN 60309 plug and socket connections provide a secure interface with compatible transformers, distribution boxes and electrical equipment.
The IP44-rated connectors provide protection against solid objects and splashing water, but the lead must not be submerged or left in standing water.
FAQs
What equipment can this lead power?
It can supply compatible 110V equipment with a 32A connection, including selected dehumidifiers, heaters, transformers, distribution boxes and heavy-duty site equipment.
Will it fit a standard 110V transformer?
Only if the transformer has a compatible 32A 110V outlet. Some smaller transformers provide 16A outlets only, so the socket rating must be checked.
Can I connect a 16A tool directly to it?
No. A standard 16A plug will not fit the 32A socket. A suitable rated distribution box or approved adaptor arrangement is required.
How long is the cable?
The extension lead is approximately 14 metres long.
What does 4 mm² mean?
It refers to the cross-sectional area of each electrical conductor. The larger conductor size is designed to handle the lead’s higher 32A current rating.
Is it suitable for outdoor use?
Its IP44-rated connections provide protection against splashing water, making it suitable for appropriate site use. It must not be submerged, placed in standing water or used with damaged seals or covers.
NEED HELP CHOOSING?
Our team is here to help you find the right machine for your project.
Can I connect several extension leads together?
Connecting multiple leads can increase voltage drop and introduce additional connection points. The supply arrangement should be planned properly and kept as short as reasonably practicable.
Can the cable cross a vehicle route?
Not without appropriate protection. Use a suitably rated cable ramp or reroute the lead to prevent crushing, impact and trip hazards.
What is the maximum electrical load?
The connected load must not exceed 32A or the rating of any lower-rated component in the circuit, including the transformer, distribution equipment and appliance.
Does 110V mean there is no risk of electric shock?
No. A 110V site supply reduces the potential severity of an electric shock but does not remove the risk. The equipment must still be correctly connected, protected and inspected.
Can you deliver a complete site-power package?
Yes. Build Compound provides local delivery across Yorkshire, subject to location and availability.
What should I do if the cable or connector is damaged?
Disconnect the supply if safe to do so, isolate the lead and contact Build Compound. Do not tape, modify or attempt to repair hired electrical equipment.
