ABOUT THE 3T TWIN-AXLE TRAILER

This 3-tonne twin-axle trailer is designed for transporting compatible compact plant and construction equipment between the depot and site.
Its twin-axle configuration provides greater stability than a comparable single-axle trailer, while the rear loading ramps allow suitable wheeled or tracked equipment to be loaded.
Integrated lashing points provide secure locations for rated restraint equipment. The trailer’s braking system, parking brake, jockey wheel and road lights support safe towing when correctly coupled to a suitable vehicle.
Before transport, the complete towing combination—including the vehicle, trailer, machine, attachments, fuel and accessories—must be checked against every relevant weight limit.

FAQs

Not necessarily. The 3,000 kg figure normally refers to the trailer’s maximum authorised mass, which includes the weight of the trailer itself. The usable payload must be taken from the trailer’s data plate.
Check the machine’s operating or transport weight, width, length, track position and centre of gravity against the trailer’s plated payload and bed dimensions. Build Compound can help check compatibility before hire.
Potentially, subject to the precise trailer payload, bed dimensions and the dumper’s transport configuration. The complete combination must be checked before loading.
A 3,000 kg gross trailer will not normally have sufficient payload for a machine that itself weighs approximately three tonnes. A larger trailer and appropriately rated towing vehicle would usually be required.
Yes. Suitable loading ramps are supplied with the trailer and must be correctly positioned and secured before loading.
Load-restraint equipment may be supplied separately. The correct number and rating of restraints depend on the machine being transported.

NEED HELP CHOOSING?

Our team is here to help you find the right machine for your project.

The towing vehicle must have sufficient towing capacity, gross train weight and allowable nose weight for the fully loaded trailer. The towbar and electrical connection must also be compatible.
Licence entitlement depends on when the driver passed their test and the permitted weights of the vehicle and trailer. The driver is responsible for confirming that they are legally entitled and competent to tow the combination.
It must be centred laterally and positioned to achieve the correct nose weight without exceeding axle, coupling or vehicle limits. The parking brake should be applied and the machine secured at approved restraint points.
No. This trailer is designed primarily for compatible plant and equipment. Loose soil, aggregate, rubble and unsecured materials must not be carried.
Check the coupling, breakaway cable, lights, tyres, wheel security, ramps, jockey wheel, parking brake and load restraints. Confirm that all weights are within their plated limits.
No. A trailer with defective road lights, tyres, brakes, coupling or safety equipment must not be towed. Contact Build Compound immediately.
Yes. Build Compound can arrange plant delivery across Yorkshire, subject to the equipment, location and availability.
Stop using it and contact Build Compound immediately. Do not tow a trailer that may be unsafe and do not attempt structural, braking or electrical repairs yourself.
